Lockdown imposed to check spread of CVOID-19: Damo

ITANAGAR, Aug 28: Five-day lockdown was imposed in West Kameng district headquarters Bomdila on Thursday to check the surging number of COVID-19 cases and intensify tests, said Nafra ADC Kesang Ngurup Damo.

With identification of 15 fresh cases in the district on Thursday, the number rose of 157 cases while 160 have recovered and two deaths so far, according to official record.

Moreover, on the demand of local community and advice of the doctors five-day lockdown has also been imposed in Nafra Township till September 1 next so that people don’t mingle with each other much, he said.

The health authorities have launched the tracing process while testing would begin soon, he said, adding the health team led by surveillance officer Dr S K Thungon has been making all out efforts to achieve the goal, he added.
